Because of his dad's involvement in racing cars, Oliver has been driving since age five.
At one time Oliver considered professional race car driving as a career.

What a Girl Wants is Oliver's first film.
He found out about getting the part of Ian two days before his twenty-second birthday.
Performing an a cappella version of "Under the Bridge" (Red Hot Chili Peppers) was what clinched it for him getting the role of Ian.
He recorded all five of his songs for What a Girl Wants in a two hour period of time.
During screenings with those up for the part of Ian, Oliver was the only one gutsy enough to actually kiss Amanda.
Kissing Amanda Bynes in What a Girl Wants was his first on-screen kiss.
When What a Girl Wants first started filming, Oliver and Colin Firth would watch the World Cup in Colin's trailer.
Oliver was not allowed to do the falling out of the boat stunt himself during the scene in What a Girl Wants because of insurance issues.
He picked out all of the clothes for his character Ian.
